September deadline for feedback to JMLSG's proposed amendments to guidance

The Joint Money Laundering Steering Group has published proposed amendments to Part I of its December 2007 guidance. In particular, it has amended, in chapter five, guidance related to the expiry date of photographs in new style driving licences and changed information about "designated" solicitors' client accounts. These accounts contain the funds of only one client. In Chapter Six, the JMLSG has updated the guidance in the light of amended reporting and tipping off provisions to bring UK law into line with the European Union's Third Money Laundering Directive.

Complinet strongly recommends that interested parties view the JMLSG's proposed amendments in their entirety. Comments about them should be sent to David Swanney at the JMLSG by September 26.

Today JMLSG publishes proposed amendments to Part I of its December 2007 Guidance; it is seeking comment by September 26, 2008.
