Microsoft Phishing Filter

Internet Explorer 7.0 introduced a new security feature from Microsoft called the Phishing Filter. It is designed to alert users when Internet Explorer believes a web page might be trying to obtain their personal information for the purposes of identity theft. This is called "phishing".

You can read Microsoft's Phishing FAQ for more information.

Why does Bankersalmanac.com occasionally trigger the Phishing Filter?

Some pages on Bankersalmanac.com contain numerous phone numbers and email addresses for people that a bank has asked us to list against their institution. We believe that it is this that erroneously triggers the Phishing Filter.

When we have found such a page, we have contacted Microsoft and they have flagged our pages as "safe".

What should I do if I see a Phishing Filter on Bankersalmanac.com?

From the warning, you can choose to report Bankersalmanac.com as a safe site. Choose "I don’t think this is a phishing Website". Follow the instructions on the feedback site to complete this process.

Alternatively, you can just ignore the warning and continue using the website.

There is no threat to your personal information in using Bankersalmanac.com.
